The destination
This trip is bulging with sight-seeing opportunities and allows you to see many of Italy’s famous sights and cities. For those who want a relaxing, all Star treatment trip of a lifetime to take in some of the most famous historic and romantic sights in the world, this is the trip for you!
Day 1 : London - France - Lyon
Meet your coach at the pick-up point where you will be greeted by your friendly Tour Manager. We drive to the ferry at Dover, taking a short Channel cruise to Calais. Then it’s down to Lyon (stopping for refreshments of course). Later, we arrive at the hotel where you check-in.
Day 2 : Lyon - Milan
From Lyon, we drive to the exciting city of Milan (after we’ve had breakfast). We meet up with our local Milan guide and start our panoramic tour of the city. The City tour is an excellent chance to explore Milan and includes the famous La Scala Opera House, the Arch of Peace (sister to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris), the famous arcade La Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II, and the Cathedral (which is the centre of Milan). The rest of the day is spent at leisure strolling and shopping on the famous street of fashion the Via Montenapoleone. At the end of the day we head on to our hotel in Milan where you check-in for the night.
Day 3 : Milan - Venice - Bologna
Following breakfast we head for Venice, the jewel city of Italy; famous for its water canals and classical gondolas. Enjoy a boat ride to St. Mark’s Square where we visit famous landmarks such as the Bridge of Sighs, the Doges Palace and Basilica di San Marco. The rest of the day is spent at leisure in Venice; make sure you take a gondola ride down by the beautiful Rialto Bridge. By late evening you join your group back on the coach as we take a leisurely drive down to Bologna. Here we check-in to our hotel for a one night stay.
Day 4 : Bologna - Rome
We check-out after breakfast and head straight down to the Italian Capital city of Rome. We meet up with our local city guide and start our tour of the city. The first stop on the tour is the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City, also we visit the St. Peter’s Basilica; a renaissance masterpiece. We then take in other sights of Rome such as the Coliseum, Piazza Venezia and the world-renowned Trevi Fountain. Later in the evening you have a chance for shopping near the famous Spanish steps. Why not enjoy Italian pasta or pizza? We then go to our hotel where we check-in for a one night stay.
Day 5 : Rome - Pisa - Milan
We have some breakfast and then we join the group on the coach and drive to Pisa. In Pisa we visit the site of the Leaning Tower; one of the wonders of the world, and the Square of Miracles. We continue the tour as we head back to Milan; arriving in the city by early evening where we check-in to our hotel. The rest of the evening is spent at leisure. You can explore the vibrant nightlife of the city; checking out the many of the city’s pubs, bars and casinos.
Day 6 : Milan - Lyon
We leave Italy behind once we’ve had breakfast, and drive across to Lyon. Lyon is the third largest French city and is full of tourist attractions. We visit the Sainte Marie de La Tourette monastery, the Tour Métallique de Fourvière ("Metallic tower of Fourvière"), the Lyon Cathedral and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. You also have an opportunity for home shopping as we visit the Part-Dieu shopping centre, one of Europe's largest (it boasts over 200 stores). After enjoying the sights of Lyon city, by late evening we drive to the hotel where we check-in for a one night stay.
Day 7 : Lyon - London
Enjoy a good breakfast, then we board the coach for Calais where we catch our ferry go back home.
